Epic Gardening is looking for a performance-driven Email Marketing Manager to grow and later retain members for our Epic Gardening Membership, the future of our gardening community.
You’ll own the email strategy that turns readers into loyal members, blending creativity and data to drive conversions, engagement, and retention. Every campaign you launch will deepen our connection with gardeners worldwide.
Please note: This role must be located in or around the Nashville or Franklin area for in-person collaboration. The team meets in a co-working space one to two times per week, so only applications from this area will be considered. This is not a remote role.
What You’ll Do
- Build and optimize email campaigns that grow and retain our membership base.
- Plan and manage automated flows — welcome, nurture, renewal, and re-engagement.
- Turn blog readers into paying members through smart, educational email journeys.
- Write clear, compelling copy that informs, inspires, and converts.
- Segment audiences for personalized, high-relevance messaging.
- Test subject lines, CTAs, and send timing to maximize performance.
- Track KPIs, including open, click, conversion, and churn, then act on insights.
- Maintain list health, deliverability, and compliance standards.
- Collaborate with design and content teams for cohesive campaigns.
- Manage opt-ins and pop-ups to boost list growth.
- Continuously look for new ways to improve engagement and LTV.
- Create email campaigns that convert Shopify buyers through post-purchase flows.
- Build automated upsell and cross-sell sequences that drive membership subscriptions.
What You’ll Bring
- 2–4 years of proven email marketing experience in content and commerce.
- Strong grasp of segmentation, automation, and lifecycle optimization.
- Proven ability to craft email campaigns and flows that connect, educate, and convert.
- Experience managing content within WordPress, Shopify, or similar CMS platforms.
- Hands-on experience with ESPs like Omnisend, Klaviyo, or HubSpot.
- Skilled in A/B testing and pop-up or paid lead-gen optimization.
- Excellent copywriting skills in Epic Gardening’s warm, expert tone.
- Analytical mindset with a focus on measurable outcomes.
- Familiarity with HTML/CSS for light email edits (bonus).
Nice to Have
- Experience in community or subscription-based marketing.
- Understanding of content-to-commerce funnels and retention strategies.
- Passion for gardening, sustainability, or outdoor living.
