About Big Cartel
Big Cartel helps artists, makers, and independent sellers build online shops and turn their creativity into income. We believe anyone should be able to start easily, succeed quickly, and grow confidently without needing to be an expert in ecommerce.
The Opportunity
We’re looking for a Senior Product Marketing Manager to define and scale how we communicate product value to sellers across their lifecycle. From first impression to long-term success and retention.
You’ll bridge Growth Marketing and Product to connect what we build to what sellers value most. This role is equal parts strategy, storytelling, and execution defining how we position Big Cartel, how we launch what’s new, and how we help sellers find success early and throughout their journey.
You’ll play a foundational role in building Product Marketing as a discipline inside Big Cartel: developing frameworks, guiding go-to-market processes, and helping us inspire more artists, makers, and small sellers to start and thrive.
You’ll also help Big Cartel leverage AI tools and workflows to work smarter, test faster, and amplify the reach and effectiveness of our storytelling. We’re looking for someone who’s fluent in using AI to improve research, messaging, content creation, and GTM execution, and who’s excited to help shape how we use those tools across the team.
What You’ll Do
Build the Product Marketing Foundation
Develop and operationalize frameworks for segmentation, persona alignment, and seller journey mapping.
Partner with Data, Design, and Growth to evolve the marketing website into a dual engine of conversion and education.
Help define what great Product Marketing looks like at Big Cartel and lead through deep experience and data driven learnings.
Lead Messaging & Positioning
Define and maintain the messaging frameworks that communicate Big Cartel’s promise: simple, curated, seamless.
Translate product capabilities into compelling, seller-centric stories that drive sign-ups and upgrades.
Partner with Design and Content to ensure clarity, emotional resonance, and measurable impact across marketing and in-product touchpoints.
Drive Go-to-Market Strategy
Develop and own tiered GTM planning for product and feature launches from positioning and narrative to execution and measurement.
Partner closely with Product to align on priorities, define launch tiers, and ensure every release is supported at the right level.
Use data and insights to measure and communicate the impact of launches on adoption, engagement, and seller growth.
Accelerate Seller Success
Collaborate with Product on onboarding and early lifecycle experiences to help sellers reach their first sale faster.
Craft lifecycle messaging and in-product education that motivate action, build confidence, and reduce early drop-off.
Use data and insights to continuously refine messaging cadence, tone, and effectiveness.
Company Values

Be Courageous and Take Risks: Exercises strong judgement and leadership despite incomplete information
Embrace Accountability: Unwavering commitment to taking ownership of ones responsibilities, decisions and results
Why You’ll Love Working Here
Small, collaborative environment where your work has a visible impact.
Fully remote, flexible work culture.
