About the Role
YouTrip Australia is looking for a hands-on Social Media Executive to help grow our presence across Instagram, Facebook, YouTube Shorts, Reddit, and travel-focused online communities.
This is a highly executional role with content creation at its core, but broader exposure across social publishing, community interaction, trend tracking, and performance insights.
You’ll help bring YouTrip to life online — creating relatable content, showing up authentically in travel conversations, and helping make YouTrip the most talked-about no-fees travel card in Australia.
Your Mission
Build awareness, relevance, and trust for YouTrip through scroll-stopping content and authentic social engagement — never corporate, never salesy.
Key Responsibilities
Content Creation & Production (Core)
- Ideate, film, and edit short-form, social-native content for IG Reels, Stories, and YouTube Shorts
- Create travel hacks, budgeting tips, card demos, day-in-the-life, fun cultural content, and real traveller use cases
- Develop scripts, hooks, captions, and visual styles that feel organic to each platform
- Capture simple product moments (tap-to-pay, FX comparisons, ATM withdrawals, app walkthroughs)
Social Publishing & Channel Support
- Support day-to-day posting across YouTrip’s social channels (IG, FB, YouTube)
- Assist with content scheduling, captions, hashtags, and basic community replies
- Ensure content is timely, culturally relevant, and aligned to YouTrip’s friendly, no-BS tone
- Help repurpose content across channels and formats (organic, stories, light paid usage)
Design & Creative Support
- Create lightweight design assets such as thumbnails, subtitles, overlays, and simple layouts
- Maintain visual consistency while keeping content social-first and non-polished
- Adapt content quickly based on performance and platform norms
Trends, Insights & Experimentation
- Track social and creator trends and adapt them for travel and money-saving content
- Test new formats, hooks, and angles and share learnings with the marketing team
- Monitor basic performance metrics (views, engagement, saves) to inform iteration
Community & UGC Support
- Support sourcing and coordination of authentic UGC from creators and the community
- Assist with creator briefs and content guidelines where needed
- Help seed content into relevant travel groups, forums, and sub-cultures (with guidance)
About You
- 1-2 years minimum experience producing social or UGC-style content (brand, freelance, or personal)
- Comfortable filming yourself or others in natural, creator-style formats
- Strong short-form video editing skills (CapCut, VN, Premiere, or similar)
- Good design instincts (Canva, Figma, Adobe tools)
- Strong understanding of what resonates with travel audiences and young professionals
- Fast, curious, and comfortable experimenting, learning, and iterating quickly
Nice to have:
- Exposure to YouTube optimisation, basic analytics, paid creative, or creator coordination
- Interest in travel, budgeting hacks, or fintech products
- Bilingual in Mandarin (not required)
