- Creating positive change in the lives of the world's most vulnerable children.
- Leading social media that moves people to act, give, and belong.
- A passionate, ambitious team at the heart of World Vision New Zealand.
The Opportunity
We’re looking for a Social Media Lead to own and lead World Vision New Zealand’s social media strategy and execution across our master brand and World Vision 40 Hour Challenge social media channels. Sitting within the Brand team, this role leads how World Vision shows up in social spaces – from the stories we tell, to the way we engage, listen and connect with our communities.
This is a hands-on social media role - you’ll lead social strategy, content planning, community management, organic boosting, social media reporting and social content production where needed. You’ll work closely with audience owners, the Schools & Youth team, and Marketing Production to deliver high-impact, culturally relevant social storytelling.
This is a role for someone who can balance strategy and creativity, performance and purpose, and always-on storytelling with campaign moments.
Key Focus Areas
- Lead social media strategy and performance across World Vision New Zealand Masterbrand and the World Vision 40 Hour Challenge, using insight and analytics to grow reach, engagement, and impact.
- Own content planning and ideation, ensuring social storytelling aligns to brand, campaign, and audience objectives and identify and craft social content ideas from teams including International Partnerships, Schools, Advocacy, Events, and External Affairs.
- Brief and collaborate with Marketing Production and agency partners to deliver high-quality, on-brand social assets for both always-on storytelling and campaign moments.
- Create and publish content directly when needed, particularly for reactive, time-sensitive, influencer-led, or youth-focused opportunities.
- Build and manage engaged social communities, owning day-to-day channel engagement and amplifying user-generated and influencer content to foster belonging.
- Protect and strengthen World Vision’s reputation on social, managing risk, supporting rapid response communications, and working cross-functionally to deliver cohesive activity.
This is your opportunity to join a professional, passionate and diverse team at World Vision New Zealand, who will stop at nothing to create meaningful change for children. Every day, as part of World Vision’s global reach, you’ll help the world’s most vulnerable families build safer and brighter futures. Every night, you’ll go home knowing you made a difference in someone’s life.
