About the role
The PLI Marketing function will be underpinned by the following strategic imperatives designed to transform our brand: Customer planning, deep brand & customer insight, Consistent & compelling customer communication across all touchpoints, Data driven marketing and adoption of AI tools to facilitate our ambition. This role will focus specifically on making our marketing more efficient and effective, working with other areas of the business and in particular our commercial colleagues to develop plans to ensure that business objectives are met. This role will enable the delivery of best-in-class marketing programmes to support building our business. Key Responsibilities
- Own the translation of the business strategy into the marketing strategy, working closely with the CMO and the wider team, this person will develop, evolve and adapt the marketing strategy to meet the demands of a dynamic business and competitive environment.
- Work closely with other teams in the national lottery to develop a marketing roadmap that addresses customer needs.
- Drive operational excellence, enhance ways of working, development of more efficient ways of working, development of more efficient processes through lean principles, automation and simplification and champion standardization where possible.
- Lead operational change management and ensure major initiatives are executable right down to store level.
- Strategic projects, lead cross functional teams through planning, execution and delivery of strategic initiatives.
- Orchestration of teams to achieve alignment with creative, digital/social, media, brand to ensure one unified plan and measurement system.
- Continuous evaluation and measurement to allow agile course correction and efficiency
Relevant Experience
Essential: - Minimum 10 yrs experience in foundational marketing roles, gaining a deep understanding of customer segmentation, market research, campaign development & execution, performance tracking.
- Min. 3 years’ experience in a senior strategic role – owning the marketing roadmap and aligning it with business goals.
- Must be a strategic thinker with the ability to connect consumer realities with the long-term business vision
- Capability in translating strategic ideas into operational feasibility.
- Leads across direct teams but can influence at C level.
- Understands how operations drive profit and loss.
- Understands how to adopt and operationalise digital & AI tools.
- Experience operating in regulated environments.
