We are seeking a Social Media Senior Director with experience in campaign management, is a vocal and engaged leader on their client and functional teams and have shown the ability to carry out strategy through structuring and planning. The Senior Director, Paid Social is responsible for providing strategic leadership and oversight to the social team. This role involves developing thought leadership, representing the team internally and externally and ensuring effective management of the social program to meet or exceed client goals.
A successful candidate will have great attention to detail and be able to take complete ownership of educating team members and getting tasks completed to bring value to our clients.

The Opportunity:

Team Leadership
- Define and implement best practices across the teams
- Effectively manage and lead all Social team members on particular client team(s)
- Identify training and development needs of client team and broader functional team
- Establish and maintain a management framework that allows for visibility into team performance against client goals and objectives
- Consulting with individual client teams as needed to ensure best practices are being used and to brainstorm new approaches to achieving client goals
- Lead, along with the Social Director, the hiring process for Social team members on their client team
- Oversight for on boarding new clients within their office location
- Ensure integration with other functional teams
- Primary account contact with COE for agency-wide social knowledge sharing
Grow Business
- Determine how to increase and expand paid media services for their clients
- Leads innovation and vision-- new products and enhancements and help identify and test new channels and products, highlighting results and sharing across organization and externally
- Actively drive long-range strategic planning for client
- Help define the role of social in overall media campaigns (audience planning, optimizations, measurement, etc.) with other media teams

Practice Development:
Innovation
- Identifies and develops new processes, strategies, frameworks, etc.
- Develop highly strategic and innovative paid social strategy recommendations that align with campaign and business objectives
- Helps pilot new approaches with client teams to refine and ensure viability
- Meets with Content and Analytics functional leads to identify opportunities for integration, processes to leverage across media functions
- Alpha/Beta tests
- Leads innovation and vision-- new products and enhancements and help identify and test new channels and products, highlighting results and sharing across organization and externally
- Provides oversight to client teams on testing approach, analyzing results and merchandising internally and externally
- POVs
- Leads development of POVs related to new products and enhancements related to existing Social products and services
Product & Service Development:
New External Channels/Products
- Identifies and evaluates new channels and products
- Recommends clients to test new channels and products
Internal Products & Services
- Helps with product marketing for existing Social services
- Project manages development and testing of products and services
- Identifies new products/services being delivered by client teams and determines potential to provide at agency level
Partner Relations:
Technology
- Main point of contact for technology partners – competitive and campaign management
- Identify and evaluate new technology providers in the space
- Develop proposals for new providers recommended for the agency
- Update technology RFIs/comparisons on periodic basis
- Point of escalation for technology related issues
- Responsible to ensure all client teams are informed about new providers or updates to existing technologies
- Subject matter expert for client team questions, new business, sister agencies, etc.
Social Networks
- Responsible to ensure all client teams are informed of new products and engine enhancements
- Oversee presentations from providers for Social team or broader agency
- Oversee QBR from key engine partners
- Oversee with training lead on related certifications

The ideal candidate will be process oriented by reviewing any gaps in the day-to-day management of the account and implementing new, stronger processes. They ensure team members fully understand the client's business and how market factors impact the business and make recommendations around expanding or adjusting the social program. The Senior Director, Paid Social will foster strong cross-team collaboration with other Paid Social leads to enhance overall culture and team performance. Additionally, the Senior Director, Paid Social should regularly identify and bring opportunities to the client, such as beta tests and industry insights.
What you’ll need to succeed:
- Bachelor’s degree or relevant post-secondary education, training, or equivalent experience
- 10+ years business experience including 5+ years building and/or managing accounts in the social marketing and/or interactive advertising space.
- Be a proactive self-starter
- Possess general knowledge of direct and brand marketing principles and strategies
- Have a deep understanding of the interactive marketing landscape
- Have polished presentation, communication, and analytical skills
- Have strong organizational skills, being able to manage multiple projects at once
- Have online media sales and/or interactive ad agency experience
- Outstanding ability to build partnerships and manage and develop a cohesive team in a fast-paced environment
- Highly analytical and creative mind in strong communication skills with experience in building and managing a team through a use of excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- High levels of integrity, autonomy, and self-motivation
- Demonstrated ability to manage client relations including handling difficult client situations to optimal results for both the client and the company
- Know the difference between features and benefits and how to sell and deliver value!

Who you’ll partner with:
You’ll work hand in hand with the social members on your team, partnering with the strategy/planning teams and reporting into the Client Business Lead.
Beyond your immediate team, you’ll also work closely with the rest of the Digital Activation team, including Search and Programmatic Video/Display, as well as the wider media and marketing sciences teams to drive your client’s business forward.

This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on relevant experience, other job-related qualifications/skills, and geographic location (to account for comparative cost of living). The Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time. For this role, benefits include: health insurance, vision insurance, dental insurance, 401(k), Healthcare Flexible Spending Account, Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account, vacation days, sick days, personal days, paid parental leave, paid medical leave, and STD/LTD insurance benefits.
Compensation Range$120,000—$230,000 USD
This role is hybrid, requiring three (3) days per week in the office. The remaining two (2) days may be worked remotely. Specific in-office days will be discussed during the interview process, with flexibility to align with team needs. Please note that the number or required in-office days may be adjusted over time, potentially increasing the number of required in-office days based on business needs.
