The Foster School of Business has an exciting opening for a Social Media Manager. This is a full-time, permanent position.
The Social Media Manager works with the marketing team, faculty and other internal partners to produce and distribute creative content across established platforms (Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn) and emerging social media channels. This position engages Foster’s audiences through organic and paid strategies that increase brand awareness to prospective students and communicate the excellence of our programs and faculty to current students and alumni. This position directs and mentors a team of student employees and must balance creative production, delegation and oversight to ensure workflows run smoothly and align with Foster’s mission and strategic goals. The Social Media Manager plays a key role in driving the school’s mission and vision, enhancing the Foster brand and contributing to a culture of innovation and collaboration with measurable results.
What You Will Do:
- Work with partners to manage content production and distribution workflows, ensuring alignment with best practices as well as Foster’s mission and strategic goals.
- Coordinate with Marcom teammates to implement paid media campaigns, event marketing, content distribution and more.
- Lead and mentor a team of student employees, including delegating tasks, developing their skills and managing multiple projects concurrently.
- Develop and maintain social media guidelines and best practices.
- Uphold and refine the Foster tone of voice across platforms.
- Stay aware of, incorporate and act on trends relevant to higher education and social media.
- Assist in other areas of marketing and business development related to social media.
- Design and adapt branded graphics (primarily in Canva) for campaigns, events and social channels.
- Capture and edit video content.
- Leverage social media scheduling and analytics tools (e.g., Sprout Social, Later, Hootsuite) to plan, publish and optimize content.
- Measure and analyze content performance to inform campaigns and increase engagement. Regularly report key metrics and actionable insights to marketing leadership.
- Serve as an advisor for the Dean on social media strategies to optimize, grow and improve user engagement and to enhance Foster’s social media program.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree AND two years of professional social media experience.
Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.
What You Bring:
- Portfolio of prior work, including social media campaigns, creative assets or analytics reporting will be requested during the screening process.
- Strong communications skills, including copywriting and editing.
- Demonstrated proficiency in design and editing tools (e.g., Adobe Premiere, Photoshop, Canva) with a strong understanding of design principles.
- Ability to critically evaluate creative work, not just perform tasks.
- Strong organizational skills, initiative, creativity and resourcefulness.
- Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
- Exceptional relationship-building and networking skills, with the ability to work harmoniously across teams.

- Hybrid working environment is available, with a minimum of two days in the office.
- Cubicle/open workspace environment which may result in additional or higher levels of noise and visual distractions.
- A dedicated iPhone and a comprehensive array of content production equipment will be provided.
- Ability to work evening and weekend hours, as necessary, on short or limited notice.
