The University of Maine at Presque Isle (UMPI) is seeking a Digital Content Specialist to create and manage engaging digital content that supports the university’s marketing and communications goals. Reporting to the Executive Director of Marketing and Communications, this role contributes to web and social media initiatives, video production, and strategic communications projects that advance UMPI’s mission and strategic objectives.
Work is conducted in a collaborative environment, with remote, hybrid, or in-person work options determined in consultation with the successful candidate. Occasional travel to campus may be required for training or events. The standard schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. EST, with occasional evening or weekend work as needed.
For remote work arrangements, the selected candidate must provide proof of a stable and reliable internet connection with a minimum speed of 25 Mbps. Hotspots are not acceptable for this position. Employees approved for remote or hybrid work will also be required to complete a Remote Work Agreement Form annually.

The salary for this full time job is $45,300.00. The university will take into consideration the salary of current UMS employees for transfer/promotion depending on skills and experience. Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in a related area (Marketing, English, Communications) or equivalent experience.
- Minimum two (2) years of digital content development and management experience.
- Knowledge and Skills:
- Demonstrated content management skills, including advanced writing, editing, researching, and ensuring quality control in a variety of platforms.
- Demonstrated video production and photography skills, including a knowledge of lighting, equipment, and editing, as well as proficiency in web-related graphics.
- Previous experience in planning strategically and managing multiple and competing priorities and deadlines.
- Advanced knowledge of communication and branding strategies as they relate to a large, diverse, matrix-style organization with cross-functional teams and how to communicate effectively while collaborating with internal and external audiences.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Two years of experience in social media management.
- Experience in marketing and branding a university.
- Experience with WordPress and Google tools.
- Customer relationship management (CRM) familiarity.
- Expert-level skills in videography.
- Familiarity with the Adobe suite of products.
- Working knowledge of AP style.
