Playa Bowls is New Jersey's Original Acai Shop, founded in 2014, and our mission is to bring superfruit bowls to the masses using only the freshest, highest quality ingredients while providing a fantastic in-store brand experience. What began as a pair of blenders, a patio table, and a fridge has flourished into a 300+ unit operator and franchisor of the leading fast casual restaurant concept. Playa Bowls added more than 70+ locations in 2024 and are on target to add as many 90 new locations in 2025. Who You Are
Are you a positive, driven, and creative spirit with a love for superfoods, healthy living, and FRUIT! We’re looking for a Community Marketing & Social Media Manager to lead the charge in growing our brand both online and in our local community.
In this role, you’ll be the voice and vision behind our social media presence—crafting engaging content, managing our platforms, and building meaningful connections with our audience. You’ll seek out and develop local partnerships, plan and execute community events, and drive customer engagement both digitally and in-store.
You’ll also work closely with our shop team to align marketing efforts with daily operations, support local promotions, and bring the Playa Bowls vibe to life in every interaction. If you’re someone who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, has a knack for storytelling, and doesn’t shy away from a good food pun, we want you on our team!
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Social Media & Content Creation (Instagram & Facebook):• Create and manage engaging, on-brand content that highlights our menu, team, events, and community involvement• Monitor engagement and respond to followers to build an active, loyal online community• Schedule and analyze posts to identify trends and boost reach and ROI• Visit the store regularly for content creation and real-time social coverage Marketing & Campaign Development:• Plan and launch creative marketing campaigns based on store sales trends, local events, holidays, and product drops• Work closely with the store team to align campaigns with goals and customer feedback• Track and report on campaign effectiveness, customer response, and ROI Field Marketing & Community Engagement:• Build and maintain relationships with local schools, businesses, and organizations• Initiate and coordinate partnerships, sponsorships, and catering opportunities• Represent Playa Bowls at community events and in-person meetings• Look for new grassroots marketing opportunities to boost brand presence Role Details:• Part-Time (Approx. 10–15 hours/week)• Hybrid: Remote work, on-site content creation at our Rockwall store, and local travel for community outreach• Must be flexible, self-motivated, and passionate about community engagement and healthy living

Skills
- Social Media Management
- Experience managing platforms like Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok.
- Comfortable using scheduling tools (e.g. Chatmeter).
- Content Creation
- Skilled in photography, video creation (especially Reels/TikToks), and basic graphic design.
- Familiarity with tools like Canva, CapCut, or Adobe Creative Suite.
- Community Engagement
- Responds to comments and messages promptly and personably.

- Event Planning
- Plans and executes local pop-ups, samplings, or collaborations with fitness studios, wellness centers, etc.

Requirements
- Meet business goals set out by the company in key metrics
- Must work a minimum of 10-15 hours a week, including weekends and holidays but expected to work as the business dictates
Essential Physical Functions
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position for prolonged periods of time
- Must be able to lift or otherwise move 25-40 pounds occasionally
- Must be able to retrieve items from high and low shelving, the fridge/freezer, and under counters.
