Role Type: Contractor
We’re looking for a Founding Product Marketing Manager (PMM) to define and scale the product-led growth (PLG) engine. You’ll work directly with the founding team at the intersection of product, marketing, and data, owning how we acquire, activate, and retain users across our marketplace and subscription products.
You’ll design systems that drive growth through experimentation, insights, and automation. Using your understanding of user activation and retention, you’ll create scalable strategies that turn product engagement into revenue.
You should have experience in SaaS or marketplace environments where the product itself fuels growth, and you know how to combine lifecycle marketing, clear messaging, and analytics to deliver results.
This is a hands-on, high-impact opportunity to build the product marketing function from the ground up. You’ll define positioning, launch new features, manage go-to-market efforts, and measure success through data-driven insights.
If you want to make a real impact at an early-stage startup and shape the foundation of a world-class growth engine, this role is for you.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own the full lifecycle marketing function across email, in-app messaging, and onboarding flows to drive user activation, adoption, and retention.
- Define and refine messaging and positioning for our core product and new features, ensuring clarity and consistency across all user touchpoints.
- Develop and execute go-to-market strategies for new feature launches and product lines, working closely with Product and Design.
- Build and operationalize the systems, tooling, and processes that enable scalable lifecycle campaigns, experimentation, and measurement.
- Use data to identify growth opportunities within the PLG funnel—activation, expansion, and churn reduction—and design experiments to improve them.
- Partner with Product and Engineering to improve in-product experiences that drive engagement, retention, and monetization.
- Collaborate with the founders to explore and test new growth motions such as sales-assisted and enterprise outreach.
- Analyze lifecycle and retention data to uncover insights, influence roadmap decisions, and communicate learnings across the company.
- Build the foundation for a scalable product marketing organization by creating playbooks, documentation, and repeatable GTM processes.
- 3+ years of experience in product marketing or growth at a product-led growth (PLG) company, ideally within SaaS or marketplace environments.
- Deep understanding of the PLG funnel: activation, adoption, expansion, retention, and how to operationalize these stages through product and lifecycle initiatives.
- Proven ability to craft clear, compelling positioning and messaging that drives product understanding and engagement.
- Hands-on experience with lifecycle automation tools (e.g., HubSpot, Customer.io, Iterable) and analytics platforms (e.g., GA4, Mixpanel, Amplitude, SQL).
- Strong analytical mindset; able to design and interpret experiments, track KPIs, and translate insights into growth strategies.
- Skilled at collaborating cross-functionally with Product, Design, and Engineering to align launches, onboarding, and in-product growth.
- High degree of ownership. Able to move seamlessly from strategy to execution and build scalable systems from the ground up.
- Excellent written communication and storytelling skills.
- Comfortable in an early-stage, fast-changing environment with high autonomy and accountability.
- Highly communicative and flourishes in async work environments.
Not mandatory, but highly valued:
- Personal projects that demonstrate your abilities pertaining to this role
- Previous experience with 2-sided marketplaces
Compensation and Benefits:
Fully Remote: work from anywhere, with an emphasis on async collaboration.
Competitive Pay: $100K–$150K CAD.

Paid Time Off: 2 weeks of vacation to recharge.
