Qualifications:A full-time or part-time daytime student at Sheridan College with a GPA of at least 2.5 and not undergoing a co-op term between the months of November 2025 to April 2026.
Term: November 2025 – April 24, 2026
Location:Davis Campus
Hours: 16 hours per week

General Responsibilities
Social Media Coordinators are responsible for enriching the student experience beyond academics and will report to the Manager, Social Media & Community Engagement and the Supervisor, Social Media Team.
Social Media Coordinators will be responsible for trend research, executing content creation, and ensuring Sheridan students receive information about SSU events, services, clubs and initiatives.
Social Media Coordinators will be responsible for working with and maintaining the brand identity and student voice of the SSU. All team members will be expected to work in a respectful manner with all SSU Staff, volunteers, Sheridan College staff and Sheridan College students.
Social Media Coordinator Responsibilities
- Assist the Marketing department in developing and executing social media content and campaigns on SSU’s Instagram and Tik Tok channels
- Liaising with different departments within the SSU to facilitate the promotion of our events, services, clubs, governance and organizational initiatives.
- Develop and execute effective creative social media strategies. Will be responsible for trend research and the development of storylines, asset creations and audience engagement tactics
- As directed by management, will be expected to attend certain SSU day and/or night events to engage students with live social media content
- Expected to interact with Sheridan students in-person to gather and execute Interview Style content
- Act in such a manner that reflects the professional values and expectations of the SSU and operates in accordance with the Values and Mission as well as the by-laws and policies of SSUI.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications
- Comfortable & confident interacting/appearing daily on SSU social channels
- Strong understanding of social media / digital marketing platforms, their respective features, and how to use them creatively to execute campaigns.
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Responsible and committed to weekly meetings
- Excellent communication skills – online and in person
- Experience with Canva, CapCut and Adobe Creative Cloud an asset
- Previous experience executing Content Creation an asset (for work not for personal social media accounts)
- Ability to work independently and as a member of the team accountably
- Approachable, friendly, creative and reliable
- Passionate about the #SheridanLife & knowledgeable about all things SSU and passionate about the student community
