This role is a key one within the Home Marketing Team. We’re responsible for introducing more and more consumers to Samsung’s leading TV, display, sound and domestic appliance innovation to help them to do what they couldn’t do previously. At the heart of Samsung devices is the ability to connect them through Smart Things, and to make life easier and simpler as a result.
For example, using your phone to check you turned your oven (or hair straighteners) off before you left the house. Or to display your favourite TV programme on the screen of your Family Hub fridge so you don’t miss anything. Or to check the contents of your fridge whilst you’re at the supermarket so you don’t forget a vital ingredient
TVAV is a significant part of the overall Home business, representing revenue of c. $750m. We have a strong business and plan to secure a #1 position.
Role and Responsibilities
Your key responsibilities
What will be your key deliverables?
18-month rolling brand plan for TVAV that achieves brand objectives (incl share, loyalty, love, purchase intent) and contributes to achieving business goals (incl vol, rev, profit).
Data-led investment plan aligned to business objectives and performance.
Monitor impact and ROI of all brand activities. Make recommendations to amend and refine activity on an ongoing basis.
Bring fresh thinking to the marketing team, foster a spirit of #DoWhatYouCant, be tuned into what’s happening culturally to make our brand activity more impactful.
Key Responsibilities
Utilise market insight to formulate 18-month rolling TVAV brand plan working closely with CMI team.
Build good understanding of category & competitive environment and marketing activities, sharing information with wider team.
Implement the 18-month plan, collating learnings, track and monitor ROI and refine the plan.
Deliver demonstrable ROI for all marketing activities.
Recommend the most effective use of marketing investment budget.
Work closely with HQ and EO to:
Optimise global creative assets for the UK
Optimise media & investment plans to develop SEUK’s status as a ‘lighthouse’ market to test and refine new marketing ideas
Build a positive, open, constructive relationship with colleagues across the business
When needed, locally develop assets.
Write clear, high quality briefs for our agency / creative partners to inspire them to deliver excellent work for us.
Ensure consistency in all brand assets in the UK across TVAV, partnering with retail, channel, sales, online and agencies to achieve this.
Be the go-to TVAV marketing lead: work closely with the other key functions within the business including Product Management, Category & Shopper Insight, Retail Design & Operations, Channel Marketing, Sales, Digital, PR & Events.
Ensure on-time delivery of brand toolkits and key visuals to Channel Marketing for all brand initiatives.
Provide regular and clear communication of key initiatives to relevant parties including internal stakeholders.
Determine how TVAV communications can tell the unique One Samsung story: connected devices through Smart Things.
What we need for this role
To be successful, you will possess the following skills and attributes:
Self-starter: uses initiative to deliver what’s needed whilst also being capable of bringing the team along too. Must be able to deliver through a team and not operate solo.
Builds a network, collaborates, knows how to deliver a vision, a plan and then make it happen.
Strong communication skills: interpersonal, written and presentation.
Understands brands and business. Capacity to translate plans into commercial outcomes.
Excellent project and time management: it’s essential to ensure toolkits and key visuals are delivered on time, as well as meeting media deployment deadlines.
Able to get things done quickly and with good attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple demands, flex and adapt when needed.
A positive attitude is essential in this role: remaining focused and upbeat in the face of an ever-changing internal and external (competitive) landscape is needed.
A desire to #DoWhatYouCant and create the very best marketing initiatives.
Curiosity, being culturally tuned-in and across what’s new in tech / comms / music / sport / etc
What does success look like?
Proven brand management experience, preferably in a large and dynamic organisation.
Ability to lead an insight and data-led 18-month brand plan with measureable ROI/metrics.
Delivered excellent marketing results previously.
Passion for branding, advertising and communications.
Experience of briefing, developing creative work and owned, earned, shared and paid connections plans.
Ideally has experience of developing and coaching a direct report or mentee.
