Founded in 2017, Laka set out to transform insurance by connecting passionate cyclists to form a collective and protect their bikes for when things go wrong - a better model for insurance was born. For once people come first in insurance by fairly sharing the cost amongst each other. We exist to rewrite the rules of insurance so it’s something people stand with, not against.
Our model: Laka makes sure everything runs smoothly for The Collective - from exceptionally fast claims, splitting the cost fairly, guaranteeing a maximum price and all the other heavy lifting of a regulated insurance business. For that service, the collective pays Laka a fee relative to the claims in a month.

What have we been up to since then...?
In a nutshell, we've been very busy! Here are a few of the massive achievements we've had:
Raised $10.4 million at series B!
Grown the team to over 60 Lakanauts, based across the UK and NL, enabling a choice-based, remote-first way of working
Launched Laka in a total of 9 countries, essentially helping more people in more places!
Captured the UK and NL enthusiast cyclist market and expanded into commercial business partnering
Been awarded 'Best Cycle Insurance Provider' (for the past 7 years in a row - go us! )
Opened 3 shiny new offices in London, Bristol & Amsterdam to provide spaces for people to collaborate as they like

About the role
Marketing Manager (Netherlands)
We’re looking for a results-driven marketer to lead our D2C consumer marketing activities in the Dutch market on a paternity cover basis. The ideal candidate has a strong background in digital and performance marketing, with a proven ability to drive growth, optimize campaigns, and build meaningful connections with consumers. This is a great opportunity to take ownership of marketing strategy and execution for one of our key markets during a critical period.
What you'll be doing:
- Executing marketing campaigns
- Managing budget and performance for the region
- Combination of hands-on channel management plus managing freelancers across: affiliates, paid search, paid social, influencers, podcasts, youtube advertising
- Responsibility for CRM and Website management for the region
- Localising marketing campaigns and product communications for the Dutch market
Could this be you?
- 5+ years of marketing experience within a direct-to-consumer (D2C) business, ideally in a fast-paced or high-growth environment. (More experience is welcome, especially given the short-term nature of the role.)
- Proven expertise in digital and performance marketing, with hands-on experience across channels such as paid social, search, display, and CRM.
- Fluent in both English and Dutch, with excellent written and verbal communication skills in both languages.
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret performance data and optimize campaigns for growth.
- Collaborative and proactive, able to work cross-functionally with global and local teams.
- Available for a fixed-term or paternity cover contract, ready to make an immediate impact.
And just so you know, Insurance experience isn’t required (for most roles). We’ll teach you anything you need to know and upskill you if needed.
