About the role 
Are you passionate about bringing brands to life and engaging communities through dynamic marketing and communications? 
The City of Parramatta is seeking a proactive and creative Marketing & Communications Officer to join our vibrant team. In this role, you’ll champion the marketing, promotion, and communication strategy for the City, with a special focus on delivering outstanding events and festivals that showcase Parramatta’s unique identity.
 On a daily basis you will: 
- Design, coordinate, and deliver tactical marketing promotions and communications across digital and traditional channels to reach and engage target audiences.
- Lead and support the planning and execution of destination marketing, events, and festival campaigns, working closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful outcomes.
- Develop and update marketing, promotions, and communication tools (print, online, digital, and non-traditional) to maximise engagement and support the City and Council brands.
- Engage regularly with customers, community groups, and stakeholders to build advocacy for Council programs, services, and events.
- Collect, analyse, and report on campaign performance, industry trends, and event outcomes to inform continuous improvement.
- Foster strong relationships with business partners, community organisations, and government authorities to enhance the impact of events and festivals.
- Promote diversity, inclusion, and the City’s values in all communications and event activities.
About You 
The successful candidate should have 4+ years’ experience in marketing and communications, with a proven track record in planning, promoting, and delivering successful events and festivals.
You will also bring:
- Tertiary qualification in marketing, communications, or a related field.
- Demonstrable experience in developing and implementing marketing, promotion, and communication programs that engage diverse audiences.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver results under pressure.
- Proficiency in digital systems and analytics tools for marketing, communication, and event promotion.
- Excellent communication, copywriting, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence and inspire stakeholders.
- Creative, solutions-focused, and passionate about making a positive impact in the community.
What’s on offer
We are offering a 6-month full time term contract, with an attractive remuneration from $104,610.61 plus 12% superannuation.
