Freddie’s Flowers was founded by Freddie Garland in October 2014 with one ambition: to change people’s relationship with flowers. We believe flowers aren’t only for grand occasions, but they make every day special, inspiring creativity and sparking joy.

Our starting point was our direct-to-consumer subscription model, helping us grow a loyal UK following. We launched in Germany in 2020, and then in 2021 we secured significant backing from The Craftory, a like-minded purpose-led global investment house, helping us expand, develop and grow. 2023 saw us start our gifting service – bringing the best of Freddie’s Flowers to everyone who needs it (even last minute!).

From the seed of an idea we continue to flourish; we’re now a B Corp organisation. And our founding mission remains unchanged – to change the world of flowers, and to change the world with flowers.

About the Role:

We’re Freddie’s Flowers, and we believe in bringing joy through flowers. Our subscription service delivers stunning, fresh blooms straight to our customers’ doors, brightening homes and lifting moods—one bouquet at a time.

Now, we’re looking for a mid-level Copy Lead to help us grow, crafting compelling copy that connects with our audience and drives engagement across all touchpoints.

What You’ll Be Doing

Reporting to the Senior Brand Manager, you’ll be the voice behind our brand, shaping everything from ecommerce to marketing. Your words will inspire, sell, and build relationships with our customers.

Write and edit standout copy for our website, app, email marketing, social media, and performance ads.
Own and evolve our tone of voice, ensuring consistency across all platforms.
Craft compelling email campaigns, including newsletters and automated flows (like replenishment reminders and abandoned cart nudges).
Turn creative briefs into captivating messaging, collaborating closely with designers and marketing teams.
Ensure all copy is polished, effective, and on-brand, from product descriptions to campaign headlines.
Stay on top of trends in beauty, lifestyle, and ecommerce copywriting to keep our messaging fresh and engaging.
Analyse and refine content, using data and A/B testing to optimize performance.
Champion clarity, creativity, and conversion, making every word count.

Requirements

We’re after a strategic, creative, and detail-obsessed copywriter who knows how to balance brand storytelling with commercial impact. If you love flowers, words, and the magic they create together—this role is for you.

5+ years of experience in copywriting, ideally for ecommerce, beauty, or lifestyle brands.
A strong grasp of direct-to-consumer (DTC) marketing, with a proven track record of crafting high-performing copy.
Flair for storytelling and brand voice, with the ability to adapt tone across different platforms.
Passion for floral design, gifting, or lifestyle branding (a love of fresh blooms is a bonus!).
Excellent editing and proofreading skills—you’re ruthless when it comes to grammar and typos.
Data-driven approach—you understand how copy impacts conversion rates and engagement.
Strong organisational skills, able to juggle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Startup or scale-up experience is a plus.
