About Pocketpills
Pocketpills is Canada’s leading full-service online healthcare platform and digital pharmacy. We’re on a mission to simplify complicated, traditional healthcare by combining user-friendly technology, compassionate care, and reliable medication services.
From virtual doctor visits and prescription management to free, discreet delivery across Canada, we're making healthcare accessible, affordable, and putting Canadians at the heart of their own care.
We are a fast-growing, venture-backed scale-up poised for our next phase of monumental growth, and we need a performance-driven Creative Strategist to lead the charge.
The Opportunity
We are seeking an exceptional, data-driven Creative Strategist to be the engine of our acquisition efforts. This role sits at the critical intersection of media buying, creative production, and data science, and is solely focused on unlocking new user growth.
You will be the strategic partner to our media buyers, responsible for constantly analyzing performance data, identifying what is resonating in our ads, and translating those insights into a continuous pipeline of high-potential creative concepts and angles. Your direct focus will be on maximizing Return on Ad Spend (ROAS) and driving down our Cost Per Acquisition (CPA) by making our ads impossible to ignore.
What You'll Do (Key Responsibilities)
Creative & Strategy (Ideation & Copywriting)
- Lead Creative Ideation: Develop, pitch, and execute a continuous stream of new, scalable creative concepts (video, static, and copy) based on funnel data, user pain points (e.g., prescription hassle, cost), and emerging platform trends (e.g., TikTok, Meta).
- Master Script Writing & Copy: Act as the lead writer for all direct response (DR) advertising. This includes crafting compelling script writing for short-form video and engaging direct response copywriting for ad headlines, body text, and landing page calls-to-action.
- Concept Validation: Work with the Growth team to prioritize creative concepts for testing, ensuring high-frequency velocity and measurable results.
Production & Collaboration
- Creative Direction: Serve as the strategic bridge between the Growth Team and the Creative/Design Team. Provide clear, concise, and actionable direction to internal and external designers and video editors to ensure all assets are produced to spec and align with performance marketing objectives.
- Iterate and Optimize: Own the rapid iteration process, providing frame-by-frame or word-by-word feedback on creative assets based on early performance signals to quickly improve their effectiveness.
- Competitive Analysis: Continuously monitor competitors and the broader D2C creative landscape to identify emerging best practices and "hook" trends that can be applied to Pocketpills.
Data Analysis & Performance
- Analyze Performance Data: Deeply analyze campaign performance metrics (CTR, CVR, CPA, ROAS, retention) across platforms (Meta, Google, TikTok, etc.) to accurately diagnose what’s working, what’s fatigued, and why.
- Develop Strategic Angles: Translate complex data findings into simple, repeatable, and high-impact creative hypotheses—building new narratives and product angles designed to specifically target and improve poor-performing segments.
- Reporting: Maintain and communicate a clear creative performance roadmap, sharing wins and failures with stakeholders across the Marketing and Executive teams.
What You'll Bring (Required Skills & Experience)
- 3+ years experience in a Creative Strategy, Performance Creative, preferably within a high-growth D2C or agency.
- Expert-level proficiency in Direct Response Copywriting and Script Writing with a portfolio that demonstrates measurable improvements in key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Exceptional analytical skills and comfort working directly within ad platforms (e.g., Facebook Ads Manager, TikTok Ads) and analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, mixpanel, Motion, Atria) to analyze data and interpret creative performance.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively and provide clear, strategic guidance to designers, video editors, and media buyers.
- A foundational understanding of design principles for both video and static ads, enabling you to articulate creative feedback that moves performance metrics.
- You possess a high degree of empathy and are skilled at tapping into consumer pain points related to Canadian healthcare.
- Highly organized, proactive, and capable of managing a high-volume testing cadence in a fast-paced environment.
