General Statement
The Social Media Marketing Assistant will play a key role in maintaining and enhancing the online presence of the ASI social media online community. This position will focus on creating captivating content for ASI’s programs and services across various active Social Media channels including, but not limited to: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn and TikTok.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESinclude the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Assists in maintaining all ASI social media sites and profiles in accordance to ASI procedures.
- Creates engaging digital content for the various programs and services of ASI on all active Social Media channels including, but not limited to: Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn, TikTok and more.
- Assists Digital Media Manager with monthly analytic reports for department managers detailing progress on all social media platforms; Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and X.
- Collaborates with other ASI departments when applicable and attends ASI events for social media coverage.
- Moderate all user generated content in line with moderation policy for each channel.
- Conducts surveys and polls for Social Media pages when applicable.
- Assists in researching current trends in social media marketing.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Education and/or Experience
A minimum of one semester of job-related experience or equivalent multi-task position required. Concurrent enrollment in six or more units at CSULB.
Knowledge and Abilities
Working knowledge of Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn, & TikTok. Strong interpersonal skills and collaborative mindset. Working knowledge of the iPhone X smartphone device and proficient in using Mac and PC computers.

Schedule
Must be able to work a minimum of 15 hours per week with the flexibility to cover up to 20 hours per week as needed.
Must be available to work evenings and some weekends as needed during the academic year. Must be available to work during the winter & summer breaks. Hours during summer and winter breaks are to be determined by supervisor.
