As Senior Director of Generative Engine Optimization (GEO), you will lead the agency’s vision and growth in this emerging discipline. You’ll shape frameworks, service models, and innovation programs that redefine how brands approach organic visibility in the era of AI-powered search. In this role, you’ll partner with world-leading brands to bring AI innovation into their SEO and digital ecosystems, helping them adapt to an AI-forward search landscape and evolving consumer behaviors. This is both a visionary and hands-on leadership position, requiring the ability to translate complex AI search trends into enterprise-ready strategies, scalable programs, and industry thought leadership.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

Define and evolve the agency’s GEO vision, frameworks, and service models.
Champion innovation in AI-powered search, leading experimentation, prototyping, and automation programs.
Represent the agency externally through thought leadership, client forums, and industry events.

Client Impact & Growth

Lead GEO strategy for enterprise accounts, guiding C-suite conversations on AI search readiness.
Translate emerging AI trends into scalable solutions that differentiate client programs.
Partner with business development teams to grow GEO-driven opportunities and revenue.

Innovation & Integration

Deploy and scale AI automations and custom workflows into SEO operations.
Integrate GEO practices with SEO, Content, PR, and Paid Media to deliver full-funnel visibility strategies.
Identify, test, and implement cutting-edge AI tools that enhance client outcomes.

Team Leadership

Build and mentor a cross-functional GEO team, enabling skill development across all levels.
Create scalable playbooks, training, and operational processes for GEO adoption.
Serve as a senior leader within SEO, influencing agency-wide innovation initiatives.

Qualifications

10+ years of SEO experience, preferably on the agency side, working with enterprise brands to build and oversee execution of large-scale SEO strategies.
Proven record of innovating with AI, deploying AI automations, and integrating AI-powered tools into SEO workflows.
Expertise in AI-driven search, LLM ecosystems, and structured content strategies.
Strong executive presence with experience influencing senior stakeholders.
Exceptional presentation and storytelling skills; we are looking for someone who thrives in pitch rooms and executive forums.
Recognized thought leadership - published industry pieces and/or public speaking at conferences and events is a plus.
Track record of developing new service offerings and leading organizational transformation.

This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on relevant experience, other job-related qualifications/skills, and geographic location (to account for comparative cost of living). The Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time. Compensation Range

$120,000—$200,000 USD

This role is hybrid, requiring three (3) days per week in the office. The remaining two (2) days may be worked remotely. Specific in-office days will be discussed during the interview process, with flexibility to align with team needs. Please note that the number or required in-office days may be adjusted over time, potentially increasing the number of required in-office days based on business needs.
