COMPENSATION: $70,000 - $90,000 annually + 10% Annual Bonus Potential

PURPOSE
VASA is more than a gym. We empower people to feel strong, balanced, and socially connected. Our clubs blur the line between fitness and community, offering strength training, cardio, recovery, and social spaces. We believe movement thrives in connection--and we're especially passionate about making fitness accessible and meaningful for 18--38-year-olds who want to work out with friends, feel good, and belong. We're seeking a Social Media Strategist who brings both creativity and operational rigor to help us grow VASA's voice, community, and impact across the U.S.
OVERVIEW
We're looking for a hands-on strategist who can lead social media planning and execution through storytelling, data, and creative excellence. You'll bridge brand, content, and growth, owning our social voice while delivering tangible business outcomes--club growth, brand love, community engagement, and membership retentiveness.
You'll report to the Director of Social Media, and work cross-functionally with creative, paid media, PR, operations, and regional clubs. You'll also mentor and manage social creators/assistants and spend meaningful time on the ground in clubs to create authentic content.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The deliverables for this position include, but are not limited to:
- Strategy & Planning
- Execute our social media strategy to support larger business goals and communication priorities. Showcase the VASA brand through storytelling, driving brand relevance, engagement, and affinity.
- Translate strategy into compelling creative briefs informed by performance data and trends. Facilitate brainstorms with cross-functional teams to generate fresh, trend-forward content.
- Define KPIs and success metrics; maintain dashboards and own test-and-learn opportunities. Deliver monthly reports with actionable insights to guide strategy and optimize content performance.
- Creative & Content Leadership
- Build and manage multi-platform content calendar (4+ channels), tailoring content to platform strengths and algorithm priorities. Balance evergreen, real-time trend, influencer, campaign, and local content. Asana experience preferred.
- Own content scheduling across social platforms using management tools and natively. Ensure timely publishing to maximize impact and avoid content gaps. Experience in Sprout or similar social media management platforms as a plus.
- Develop engaging and on-brand copy across social channels, understanding the nuances of tone of voice across each platform.
- Manage end-to-end execution of influencer and creator campaigns, ensuring alignment with brand values and best practices.
- Drive pre-to-post content production--from ideation to execution--partnering with social media assistants, creators, and coordinating logistics like shot lists and gym access.
- Help produce and film content, ensuring content ladders up to brand voice and showcases best-in-class content creation.
- Regularly visit VASA clubs (home state and nationally) to help capture content, support in-club events, and ensure alignment between national strategy and local execution.
- Community Building
- Monitor brand mentions and community conversations using listening tools to stay ahead of trends and competitor activity.
- Build an emotional connection with Gen Z and Millennial audiences by delivering high-impact creativity that fuels conversation, shares, and follows.
- Guide community management protocols, social listening, and crisis response to protect our brand while maintaining a playful, upbeat voice.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Collaborate with Brand on paid asset development, coordinate with PR, email, brand marketing, operations, and internal stakeholders to drive consistency in communication and marketing touchpoints.
- Partner with Finance to oversee creator-related budgets, invoicing, and timely payments to maintain strong partner relationships.
