Summary: The Social Media & Digital Strategy Intern takes a forward-thinking, creative and tech-savvy approach to Long Home’s organic social media efforts. This intern brings the Long Home brand to life across digital platforms by crafting engaging content, growing our follower base, producing and editing video and photography content. The intern has a passion for digital storytelling, an eye for detail and a knack for connecting with homeowners online. The intern produces consistent content that blends beautiful visuals, educational product information and relatable moments from the Long team and the homeowners we serve, shaping the voice of a legacy brand through modern channels
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Build content calendar for and execute on Long Home’s organic content strategy, rooted in storytelling, lifestyle, brand and product education.
- Create and publish daily content across platforms including Instagram, Meta, TikTok, LinkedIn, and YouTube.
- Write compelling, on-brand social copy that reflects the Long Home brand, our spokesperson’s voice and connects with our homeowner audience.
- Script, shoot and and edit short-form video content for Instagram Reels, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts, including:
- Before-and-after projects
- Behind-the-scenes team moments
- Homeowner testimonials
- Lifestyle content with our spokesperson
- Capture and edit photography of Long projects, products, and people.
- Understand and utilize Google Analytics 4 to inform content strategy.
- Report on performance metrics, optimize for growth and use data to drive content per pillar based on results.
- Understand different data reporting in each social media platform and use data to build audience and engagement.
- Capture high-quality images and lifestyle content of our team, products, and installations, including visiting job sites.
- Write compelling copy that aligns with the Long Home voice—clear, confident, educational and homeowner-friendly.
- Research and use relevant hashtags and SEO best practices to maximize organic reach.
- Help manage and grow our follower base through community engagement, DMs, comments, and collaborations.
- Monitor trends and competitor activity to bring fresh, relevant ideas to the table.
- Identify and collaborate with local and niche influencersto expand brand awareness and reach new audiences.
Qualifications:
- Confident shooting video with iPhone and/or DSLR/mirrorless cameras.
- Strong sense of framing, lighting, and movement for short-form video.
- Ability to create engaging content for Reels, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts.
- Proficient in editing tools such as CapCut, InShot, Canva Video, or Adobe Premiere Rush.
- Skilled at adding text overlays, music, transitions, captions, and voiceover.
- Familiar with trending formats, sounds, and storytelling styles on social platforms.
- Able to repurpose raw footage into multiple formats (teasers, full posts, stories, etc.)
- Comfortable giving creative direction and collaborating with on-camera talent.
- Understands how to optimize video for engagement, retention, and discovery.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Able to multi-task, self-start and meet deadlines.
- Creative thinker able to communicate ideas effectively.
- Ability to learn new technologies quickly.
- Skilled in reading, writing, and understanding documents, including instructions such as procedural manuals and diagrams.
- Experienced in presenting to groups.
