Position Summary: The Digital Marketing Specialist will manage all client digital marketing campaigns, work closely with the Associate Director to refine digital marketing strategies for clients, participate in client-facing performance calls or emails, and ensure campaigns align with client goals. The Digital Marketing Specialist will be responsible for campaign creation & optimization across Facebook, Google & TikTok, and other marketing platforms, which involves but is not limited to creative ad refreshes, ad copywriting, daily account performance review & optimizations. The Digital Marketing Specialist will support with day-to-day marketing operations through budget management and allocation, campaign planning and execution, as well as advertisement performance reporting. Their goal is to help contribute to the reduction overall advertising spend while increasing lead gen and web traffic through organic and paid sources. This role will work closely with all marketing team members as well as department leaders to ensure strategies are executed effectively while maintaining brand standards.
Essential Functions:
Operations & Client Communication:
- Build, optimize, and manage paid campaigns across Meta (Instagram/Facebook), TikTok, Google Ads, and emerging platforms.
- Own CPC performance across accounts, monitoring pacing, spend, and creative daily to maximize efficiency.
- Manage a portfolio of 20+ property partners, with campaigns spanning Paid Social (Meta & TikTok) and PPC with Google - noting that a single partner may be active across all three platforms.
- Set campaign pacing and optimization cadences that improve CPC and efficiency over time.
- Monitor daily performance and make proactive adjustments to budgets, targeting, and creative in real time.
- Prepare and deliver monthly reporting, clearly communicating wins, learnings, and performance trends using both platform dashboards and tracking tools (GA4, UTM, Meta Pixel, etc).
- Act as the main POC for client performance communications, responding promptly to emails and questions with prepared feedback and proactive recommendations.
- Confidently speak to performance on client-facing calls alongside the Associate Director, supporting quarterly reviews and client check-ins with clear insights and next steps.
- Collaborate with the Content Creation team to ensure creative is aligned with campaign strategy and optimized for platform best practices.
Strategy & Growth
- Serve as the subject matter expert in digital paid media, supporting the Associate Director with insights and trends to inform broader client strategy.
- Proactively identify opportunities to improve CPC performance, client satisfaction, and creative effectiveness.
- Contribute to the development of documentation, processes, and scalable workflows that improve campaign quality and consistency.
- Support ideation and iteration for ad creative, including performance-driven refreshes and A/B testing.
- Stay current on platform updates, privacy changes, and digital marketing best practices, applying learnings across accounts.
- Support timely and accurate delivery of all reporting.
- Opportunity to take on leadership responsibilities as Smart City Digital scales and the team grows.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
Required Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required
- Bachelor’s Degree in marketing or related field is preferred
- Minimum of 1-3 years of digital marketing experience (both in SEM & PPC)
Required Skills / Abilities:
- Facebook & TikTok Ads Manager
- Google Ads & YouTube
- Google Tag Manager
- Website Conversion Tracking
- Google Analytics
- Asana (or other project management software)
- Google Workspace (Gmail, Calendar, Docs, Sheets, etc)
- Experience in lead generation and B2C marketing
- Experience executing and managing ad campaigns, A/B testing, retargeting, and remarketing
- Proven experience doing keyword research and implementing new SEO strategies
- Strong attention to detail
- Effective time management, project coordination, and ability to meet multiple deadlines
- Strong communication and active listening skills with the ability to handle feedback
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Physical Requirements:
- Hybrid (Remote-First): Primarily remote with quarterly in-person planning sessions, team events, and occasional one-off meetups.
- Assures that safety regulations are followed at all times.
- Adherence to compliance measures implemented by governing bodies such as but not limited to OSHA & the CDC. Follows policies and procedures including infection control, universal precautions, and exposure control plans when performing daily tasks.
- Reports hazardous conditions, accidents, and incidents to the immediate supervisor.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.
- Requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping and crouching.
Expected Hours of Work:
- Typical business hours: 8:30am - 5:30pm Monday - Friday, availability for escalations may be needed outside of normal business hours.
Travel:
- Up to 10% of the time.
- Minimal travel may be required for business functions, team training, and culture events.
Compensation & Benefits:
